What drums did Bobby Z use?
From 1978 to 1982, Bobby Z used an acoustic Ludwig kit (22" bass drum, 18" floor tom, 16" floor tom) with Zildjian cymbals (14″ hi-hats, 20″ ride, 18″ crash, 16″ crash).
For the 1999 tour, Bobby Z switched to an electric kit comprising of an Simmons SDS-V kit (it has distinctive hexagonal shaped pads) triggering Linn LM-1 and SDS-V modules and a set of Pearl SY-1 Syncussion electric toms. The kit also included acoustic Zildjian cymbals.
