Simmons SDS-V

A set of electronic drum pads used by Bobby Z and Sheila E in the 1980s. Bobby Z first used this kit on the 1999 tour. The kit was refinished in a paisley pattern for the Parade tour. Sheila E would later combine the SDS pads with an acoustic kit for the Sign O The Times and Lovesexy tours[1] . Prince would also use this drum kit live. The distinctive hexagonal and diamond-shaped pads triggered an external sound module - either the Simmons SDS-V Module or a modified Linn LM-1 drum machine.
