Sonny T
Bass
Sonny T (born Lloyd Thompson) was Prince's bassist from 1991 to 1996. He was a member of the New Power Generation.
In 1991, Prince formed a new backing band, the New Power Generation, that included Sonny T on bass. He made his first studio appearance on Diamonds and Pearls. Sonny T left the New Power Generation in 1996, with his last studio recordings appearing on Chaos and Disorder. In 2004, Sonny T reunited with Prince and NPG bandmate Michael B for a series of recordings that appeared on 3121, Planet Earth and Lotusflow3r. The trio also played live in 2009.
Sonny T now plays with a reunited NPG.
