Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic is Prince’s twenty third album (credited to Symbol). Intended as a mainstream comeback album, the album features a number of guest vocalists and a range of styles including contemporary pop, R&B and hard/psychedelic rock.
To promote the album, Prince gave interviews to the magazines Guitar Player, Bassist and Keyboard, so it is one of the better documented albums and eras.
There was no tour in support of the album, although there were a handful of promotional appearances including the Rave Un2 The Year 2000 pay-per-view event. The “greatest hits” Hit and Run and A Celebration tours followed in 2000 and 2001.
