Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic is Prince’s twenty third album (credited to Symbol). Intended as a mainstream comeback album, the album features a number of guest vocalists and a range of styles including contemporary pop, R&B and hard/psychedelic rock.
To promote the album, Prince gave interviews to the magazines Guitar Player, Bassist and Keyboard, meaning that it is one of the better documented albums and eras. Despite its generally contemporary production, it does feature the return of the Linn LM-1 to prominence.
There was no Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic tour, but there was the pay-per-view event Rave Un2 The Year 2000 and the Hit and Run and A Celebration tours in 2000 and 2001.
