Bobby Z

Bobby Z (born Robert Z. Rivkin, 9th January 1956) was Prince's drummer from 1978 to 1986. He was a member of the Revolution.
He joined Prince's band after the release of For You, and made his first studio appearance on Controversy. Originally playing an acoustic drum kit, for the 1999 tour he switched to an electronic drum kit. In 1983, he joined the Revolution and appeared on the Purple Rain album and film. He left Prince's band when the Revolution broke up in 1986.
Bobby Z now performs with a reunited Revolution.
