Dirty Mind
Dirty Mind is Prince's third album. Intended as a set of demos and entirely recorded at Prince's home studio, it has a sparse sound.
Some songs feature a sound influenced by punk and new wave, with other songs sounding more like the funk and disco of Prince's first two albums. Prince used a similar set of instruments on this album to Prince, with the Oberheim OB-X being a significant new keyboard.
It's the first album to feature a significant collaboration with another instrumentalist, with Dr Fink playing and co-writing "Dirty Mind" and performing a solo on "Head".
Prince toured the album from December 1980 to April 1981.
