The E-mu Proteus 1 is a rack-mounted synthesizer/sound module used by Prince in the early-to-mid 1990s.
It was used on “Alice Through the Looking Glass” (Bass), “The Voice” and “Trouble” (Horns, Drums) and it is assumed that it was used elsewhere on the Diamonds & Pearls album.
