Yamaha Motif XF8

The Yamaha Motif XF8 is a keyboard workstation used by Prince from 2010 onward. It is the next generation in the Motif series and has a fully weighted 88-key keyboard. It was Prince’s preferred keyboard at this time, using one live and in the studio. It was mounted inside a piano shell for the “Piano and a Microphone” shows and was also the controller for Prince’s “sampler” sets.
A Yamaha Motif XF8 is currently on display at Paisley Park and appears in the Prince - Guitar & Bass book.
It was used live by Renato Neto, Morris Hayes and Cassandra O’Neal.
